Addressing a rally in Delhi's Mehrauli, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "PM Modi will release Rs 18,000 crore as the next instalment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme to over 9 crore farmers today with a click of a button. He is the true well-wisher of farmers.
PM-Kisan, PM address to farmers Live Updates: Ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s address, Amit Shah said that the Opposition is misleading farmers on MSP. He said MSP will continue. Prime Minister Modi will shortly speak to farmers from six different states. He will hold the discussions through video conferencing.
PM Modi will also release the next instalment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN). In this instalment, more than Rs 18,000 crores will be transferred to more than 9 crores beneficiary farmer families.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is releasing the next instalment of the financial benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN). At the push of a button, PM Modi is enabling the transfer of more than Rs 18,000 crore to over 9 crore beneficiary farmer families, according to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
PM Modi is also interacting with farmers from six states as part of the event. Thousands of farmers, especially from Punjab and Haryana, are staging a sit-in protest along Delhi borders.

The protest started on November 26. The farmers are demanding a complete rollback of the new farm reform laws and a guarantee on the Minimum Support Price (MSP) system being retained. Multiple rounds of talks between the Centre and the farmers’ union leaders have ended in a stalemate. Protesting farmers fear that the new laws will dismantle the MSP system and corporatise farming.
